Converge Risk Manager offers pipeline risk score for Western Canadian pipelines

GDM Pipelines, a Calgary-based company that offers information on pipeline risk and integrity, announced on Tuesday that it has released its Converge Risk Manager.

The Converge Risk Manager is an on-demand risk assessment product that provides a risk score for every pipeline in Western Canada.

According to the company, “this is the latest extension to the full breadth of integrity services” offered by DGM and Explore Inc.

“Pipeline risk solutions on the market today are inherently risky,” said Brian Hall, president of GDM Pipelines.

“They are expensive, complicated and time-consuming to set up, and are often built on incomplete or inaccurate data.”

Hall said his company’s technology removes these barriers and allows pipeline operators to see their overall risk without the upfront investment.

“What we have created is more than just another pipeline risk management tool. For the first time, industry has access to a persistent database of risk information, available on demand,” he said in a press release.

GDM says the technology is simple and easy to use, but delivers complex information which will help pipeline companies manage their risk.

Converge Risk Manager is being unveiled at the International Pipeline Expo in Calgary on Tuesday.
