The future of renewable energy in Canada

Are wind and solar costs really lower than new coal and natural gas power generation? How low can they go? Is the Canadian power grid evolving to accommodate renewables? Will the system be able to support the electrification of the Canadian economy by 2050? Is utility-scale battery storage economic?

These are just some of the questions Markham asked Robert Hornung, CEO of the newly formed Renewable Energy Association of Canada, during the Zoffee of June 10, 2020.

The next Zoffee on Friday, June 12 will feature the University of Calgary professor David Layzell, the driving force behind the Transition Accelerator. Message Markham on Facebook, Twitter or email him at markham@energi.media if you don’t already have the permanent Zoom link and password.
