Big Energy Ideas!

Markham and Alison Cretney of Energy Futures Lab discuss the hydrogen economy, making carbon fibre from oil sands bitumen, mining lithium from oil well water

Alison Cretney is the executive director of the Energy Futures Lab, which is hosting a series of bimonthly Zoom webinars about big energy ideas. In this July 22 Zoffee, she and Markham discuss the need for Canada to inject big ideas into the national energy conversation.

Energy Futures Lab has even created a forum within which to begin that conversation.

According to the Lab’s website, it will be “an interactive speaker series in which participants are invited to connect virtually with members of the EFL network. By discussing new ideas as a community, the Lab sees an opportunity to encourage cross-pollination across all stakeholders in the energy system on the topic of how we can create the energy system the future requires of us while fueling economic recovery in Alberta. Participants are encouraged to build connections and explore how various topics might be shaping Canada’s collective relationship with the energy landscape.”

Full disclosure: Energi Media was contracted to provide communications services, primarily video production, for the launch of the Energy Futures Lab’s “My Energy Future” campaign from December 2019 to February 2020.
